Progesterone in Women

One of the most important hormones of the body is progesterone. This hormone is involved in women’s menstrual cycle and pregnancy. A low level of progesterone causes you to skip your monthly period. Progesterone levels should be maintained to keep a regular menstrual cycle and also to prepare the body for pregnancy. This hormone is produced in the placenta during this time and it also helps in the growth of glands that produce milk in the breast during pregnancy. Too much progesterone is one of the causes of premenstrual syndrome of PMS. This is one concern for women to seek help to achieve wellness and good health.
